Sure it's hard. Too hard. Because I'm on a laptop

I'm sure with an actual mouse I'd be fine, but the trackpad renders this unplayable. Focusing on the game's merits, it has a somewhat rough toony style, but it works for the game you've seemingly made here. It's a decent title of its own accord, and my only complaint is that those without a mouse are kind of left in the rain without any love. Not really your fault, I guess. You can't account for every damn thing in the world. I just find it a downer.

Not worth $10

You offer the full version of this game for $10. Yet it's not even as complete and satisfying to me as Audiosurf. And Audiosurf was only $5 when I bought it. This is an okay game, but it's hardly worth the usual retail price you're requesting. I'm sorry.

Tzai responds:

Hi Scel, thanks for playing the game. We too love Audiosurf and think that it is a fantastic game, please understand that Audiosurf has been out for quite a bit and its initial retail price was much higher than $5. Please do check back for promotions or discounts in the future where you might be able to get a bargain deal with Shmusicup. Thanks for your feedback!

And now for a genuine review

So, right off the top, it's not exactly super original. But it's well-done, with customization and the option to turn off the music if one gets too tired of it. Given that this is actually the first time I've ever heard of Nyan Cat, I'm not too affected by it.

The gameplay is solid, without any glaring glitches, and of course the music is adorable. The other sounds are decent, and overall it's a fun little game almost in the vein of Audiosurf. Almost. No complaints other than that it's just a meme brought to a bolder setting.

No. no no no no no. Just No.

I adored the first two games. They were absolutely brilliant. Their humor was not to be found in a puddle of memetic precum, but in the sardonic wit associated with great thinkers and philosophy. Furthermore, it barely qualified as a game, which made it all the better.

This gets caught up in platforming noise it does not need. Some of it is almost fucking impossible. And generally, it's just a waste of our time. Padding a level with pointy things and pop culture references does not make your game cute of fun or interesting. It ruins a good series with a shitty trilogy capper.

I got to Lady Gaga. I encountered a bug where I started walking through the fucking darkness around the level. I'm done. Simply done. No, good sir. No.

Interesting

Okay, so first and foremost it's fun. I like that it doesn't require the mouse, because being on a laptop makes mouse-oriented shooters a bitch. This pleasantly surprised me by making use of the arrows. The colors, while somewhat painful to look at after a while, give the game a sharp visual look despite the simplicity of it. I made it through the first 4 levels before biting it, and I'm likely going to try again shortly. While its silence was also surprising, it wasn't a bad thing- it made it more methodical and less run-and-game. While run-and-game was likely more the premise, the methodical feel works to your advantage.

My single greatest complaint is probably also one of the things that made this game so much fun- the ninjas. In a game where the hero is somewhat slower and more methodical, the speedy ninjas made a snap reaction nearly impossible and survival just a frustration. The game is otherwise smooth and in my opinion well done despite the limitations imposed upon you.

Congratulations, also, on making it to the front page.

8/10, 4/5.

Hard to pin down

I love its puzzle-based nature, but by the same token it is immensely frustrating because some levels are too easy and some are too damn hard. It goes beyond just aim and prediction- there's an immense element of chance based on the movement of some of these things. Even when it doesn't come down to chance, it is still absurdly difficult based on things like speed or precisely where everything is. I'm giving up for now on a level shaped like a pirate ship because I recognize I need to dispose of those crabs, but to do so I must avoid hitting the mines, but in order to avoid the mines I need to dig carefully, which forces me to face those damn crabs.

And don't think for a moment that the second game is any better off! I took a look at that too on your website, and that can rightly piss off! It becomes very obtuse in that enemies will happen when they damn well feel like it, and you jumping and rocket magic and aimed digging don't matter for a thing because this shit just sort of comes at you.

Mind you, the sequel doesn't go toward the above score of 7. You got a 7 on this and this alone because it is very fun but very annoying.

FUCKING BEE MAN!!!

I FUCKING HATE HIS WEAK ASS STUPID FUCKING LITTLE JUMPY FLYING TUNNEL GODDAMN IT!!!

(on a calmer and more rational note, it's a fantastic premise and I liked where it was going before I got stuck on that awful little tunnel perhaps 5 minutes into the game. It destroyed the experience and left me uninterested in finishing. Otherwise it seems fantastic.

Difficult

I enjoy the short and speedy nature of the game, but this very speed is also its greatest drawback. There is literally no margin for error, and if you aren't ready for it, this game will kick your ass. It's hard for me to get into that to the extent this game calls for.
That said, this game's visual style and music are phenomenal in their deceptively simple yet elegantly assembled natures. It captures the flavor of the game- mainly of the original, actually, but the point still stands. Great work.

hmm

Alright, so let's go by your merits alone.
First off, the game's kind of weak. Putting aside the humor of Dot Dot Dot, which I've watched 3 times now, this game doesn't really stand up on its own two feet. It functions and doesn't bug, so that's something, and it definitely captured the uselessness of the God of War series and all its clones. But that doesn't make it a good game.
Focusing on entertainment value, graphics, and controls, I can give you a 6/10 and a 3/5. This might be generous though- I've given worse for similar things.

Neat!

Quite a challenging title. Half my issue might be the fact I'm on a laptop, but those RCs are an outright pain in the ass!!

9/10, 5/5.

Evil-Dog responds:

oh damn....can't imagine playing this on a laptop without a mouse haha

Writing is my life- poetry, novels... I like blurring genres, bringing together action, comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and even romance. Don't like it? Hmm...... Pity.
