Two years later I still find myself coming back to this lean, mean title. It's stripped down, cleaned up, looks good, and plays great. Even with its mostly minimalist design, it's still an enormously compelling title that probably should have earned much more in the way of recognition.

Nerdcubed brought this to my attention, and frankly it is AWESOME. The music doesn't grate on you, the controls are simple and effective, the gore is hilarious and slight, and overall it's plainly fucking FUN.

Well done.

The collaborative element helps to keep each animation fresh and interesting. While not all of them are winners, most of them have been clever, entertaining, and even funny. It's only day 12, so I'm definitely coming back. Nicely done, everyone.

I absolutely loved this- very fun, very simple to understand, very easy to play. My only complaint is that there aren't more tests to complete. :3

Cute...

So I get it- SOPA=BAD. I've been saying it for a while and it's nice people are now noticing it, too.

The point is not SOPA with this game, though. It was inspired by SOPA, obviously, but that doesn't excuse that it's a terrible game that is univentive, unamusing, and almost unplayable by virtue that it's so goddamned boring. The least you could do is try a little originality or perhaps a smarter pun on the idea of SOPA.

I'll give it a 5/10 for the attempt at pithiness and a 2/5 for the fact you failed to make something that actually works as a GAME.

Another Touchpad Player

I don't personally care for this game. This is not because I use a touchpad. I was progressing fine through the levels. I just realized halfway through that I wasn't having fun. Fun is the point of a game, and while it's not a bad game, it doesn't strike me as a FUN game.

8/10, 4/5.

Thanks for the 8, buddy.

An Ode to the Gaudy

I loved the first game, and while I didn't initially expect one to be made, I was indeed awaiting a sequel. My wish was granted.

What's great about Upgrade Complete is that it is able to get away with and succeed at a tackiness and triviality that few other games can actually muster. UC2 takes this to ridiculous new heights, ensuring that only the most unaware will notice how gaudy this game actually is. From the avatars to the ship to the menus, this game is completely full of itself and stuck on its own merits, but that's the entire point- the upgrade system is in and of itself a pun upon gaming and the "seriousness" of the matter, even as modern gaming shoves its triple-A heads in the toilet.

This game works on the idea that modern gaming is by nature a joke. It's still funny the second time, and I find myself eager to see what the talent behind this game does next.

10/10, 5/5

ps: I know I'm a bit late to the ball, for lack of better words, but I'm late because when I first found this I was disgustingly busy. Now I can come back to it, play it as a relaxing mechanism, and actually enjoy it. Also, review it. I can review it. Yeah.

So Nitrome has fallen.

On several occasions, Nitrome has made some amazing games. They're often clever, well-designed, and laptop-friendly. This game is still laptop friendly, at least. Clever? Maybe not. Well-designed? debatable.

I played through level 2 for probably ten minutes. Kept losing. Said "No".

This game was bland at best. 5/5, and 2/5.

Rich fun!

This unexpected treat brings together 4 of the best things in the world of flash gaming: The simple and entertaining programming of Joey Betz, the trustworthy production of Armor Games, the charming art style of Super-Flash-Bros., and the playful music of Kevin MacLeod. I'm really not surprised this game is as good as it is. The art style has a retro charm and a playfully spooky flavor, the gameplay is solid and continually amusing over far longer a time than seems reasonable, and the music is a joy to listen to.

The ONLY complaint I could have (which I can't have because it's a gameplay mechanic) is how slowly some of the characters move.

10/10, 5/5. I'll be voting this up tomorrow, too.

One more ad and my foot is going through your ass.

This is in no way a BAD game. It's just sloppy as all hell. The mechanics are simple, and that's good, but then I'm faced with your ads popping up every few levels. It's fucking obnoxious. I would have given an 8 or 9 for a solid little brain teaser. Then you fucked it all up with ads.

7/10, 3/5.

Writing is my life- poetry, novels... I like blurring genres, bringing together action, comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, and even romance. Don't like it? Hmm...... Pity.
